Tarago Cheese has held a pioneering role in Australia’s farmhouse, artisanal cheese industry since its inception in 1982.

 

Still relying on traditional methods of cheesemaking, Tarago Cheese continues to use only milk from the adjoining farm, follow traditional methods, and take particular care in grading and maturation so that delicious taste and consistency is assured.

Heritage and provenance are the core pillars of Tarago Cheese. We are proud of our local Gippsland, Victoria roots and stay true to our traditional cheesemaking values that have served us well.

We have curated a delicious assortment of mould ripened cheeses, tailor made for the Australian palate.

 

In November 2023, the owners of Moondarra Cheese (another local Australian cheesemaker) completed the acquisition of Tarago Cheese to compliment the portfolio of beautiful Australian cheeses.
